WORKING MUM OF THREE PUTS A SMILE ON HER MUG FOR MACMILLAN
Friday, 13 August 2010 18:21
For the third year running, a working Mum of three young children is making the time to put a smile on her mug and take part in The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

When Sarah Engerran was just 8 years old, she lost her mother to breast cancer, leaving her father to bring up his two girls alone. “In those days, it wasn’t really an option to be cared for in your own home and Macmillan allows people to live their lives how they want when they are diagnosed with cancer.”  She goes on to say, “When my father passed away 11 years ago of lung cancer, he was hospital adverse and so he died at home and this was all thanks to Macmillan.  I was living in another country at the time so it was comforting to know that my dad and all of my family were being well cared for and looked after”

As a strong supporter of her community, Sarah (43) is holding a public coffee morning at St. Mary’s Hall in Arundel, on Friday 24th September. Last year Sarah raised over an inspiring £500 and is hoping to do just as well this year!

Along with other coffee morning hosts, Sarah has been invited along to launch of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at The All Woman Show, Fontwell Park, on Sunday 12th September.  “I think it is a fantastic way to launch coffee morning. It’s so important to get the word out there and what better way to do it than at a ladies day out!” Mandy Kendall, Fundraising Manager, goes on to say, “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning plays such a huge part in funding Macmillan’s work, and getting the word out is vital, so making a fun day of it at The All Woman Show will hopefully encourage the people of Sussex to take part!”
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. We provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.
